9 Glenview Update

An open house was held on Jan. 24th and an info session on Feb. 4th.  The Sharon Advocate ran a front page article on the affordable lottery.  Applications are due by March 12th and the lottery will be held on  March 25th.   While checking with town counsel on Chapter 30B disposition of real estate, J. Desberg was informed that another town vote is necessary (M.G.L. 40 section 3) to sell the house.   Fortunately, this will not delay the lottery.  The closing will be held after the May town meeting.

Johnson Road

Susan Saunders asked that this topic be revisited.  Jane Desberg informed the group that S. Saunders has spoken with Mr. Chitvanni and  Peter O’Cain about the SHP’s decision not to pursue development on the site.   Mr. Chitvanni said the engineering study he had done supports the possibility of building two houses at the Johnson Road location.   Peter O’Cain agreed and indicated the groundwater protection area was in Walpole.  S. Saunders wants the ability to speak with Mr. Sadek about obtaining a release.   This is a long shot, but there is no harm in speaking with Mr. Sadek.  J. Desberg moved that the SHP pursue obtaining a release from Mr. Sadek, A. Lury seconded the motion and it passed 3-0.

Community Preservation Act (CPA) Application

Mary Tobin did a tremendous job on the CPA grant application.  Thank you to Mary for doing the research and writing the grant.   After reviewing the application a vote was taken.  L. Modestino moved to approve the CPA grant application and submit it to the Community Preservation Committee.  A. Lury second the motion and it passed 3-0.

Sharon Commons

No news.  J. Desberg will follow up with Attorney Bob Shelmerdine.

Bella Estate’s Clubhouse

Michael Intoccia has offered the club house located at the now defunct Hunter’s Ridge to be converted into affordable housing.   There will be many issues to consider, but the first step is for the SHP to visit the site.  J. Desberg will contact Mr. Intoccia and Mr. Shelmerdine to schedule a visit.  Peter O’Cain provided a copy of the Zoning By-Law 4210 - Dwelling Conversion.

Chapter 40B Status

M. Tobin is researching when the Chapter 40B moratorium for the town expires.

Next meeting will be held on March 9, 2010

Meeting adjourned at 8:15pm

Respectfully submitted,

Jane Desberg, SHP Member
